If I'm just playing for fun, I might throw together an Mp3 playlist on the fly.
One of my personal favorites:
Track | Song Title | Artist |
1 | Once Upon a Time in the West | Dire Straits |
2 | Birdland | Weather Report |
3 | Rock Island Rocket | Tom Scott & The L.A. Express |
4 | Ruby Baby | Donald Fagen |
5 | Autumn Leaves | Chet Baker & Paul Desmond |
6 | Loan Me a Dime | Boz Scaggs & Duane Allman |
7 | Watermelon Man | Fourplay |
8 | Morning Dance | Spyro Gyra |
9 | The Fever | Bruce Springsteen |
If I'm listening to an album or compilation by a single artist, it's typically one of these:
- Grateful Dead
- Steely Dan
- Pink Floyd
- Little Feat
- Eric Clapton
- Stevie Ray Vaughan
- Allman Brothers
Another common option is to stream a Grateful Dead or Furthur show from the Internet Archive (a great online resource, for those not familiar with it).
During a serious game, I'd rather have no music at all. I prefer to minimize the risk of a barrel death where the music overshadows the game sounds, and I poorly anticipate the bottom hammer running out.
