Pie Factory 6800 on timer

I was practicing my level 5 save state and on pie factory with the safe pass up right side I had 6800 left on the timer; I have played that level 100's of times and always have 6700 or 6600 left on timer.

Has anyone else had 6800 left on pie factory before with the safe pass?

Yes, it is rarer but it does happen when certain conditions are met.

Yeah, its always what I call a 68'er. Usually when it happens in the course of a game that tells me I'm playing well or having a good session.

Basically, if you time everything just right, cut corners on to and off ladders, switch direction immediately after getting the prize, and in the end you're at the mercy of having the extension ladder moving up to where there is no delay.

It does happen, although it's far less common than 6700 or 6600.

Generally speaking, it depends on 3 factors:

• Rapid (and early) spawning of all fireballs
• Efficient cornering on/off each ladder
• No waiting for the retractable ladder to fully extend

Yes, played DK alot recently and never 6800. The last three days however (15 plays or so) gotten 6800 four times. I could swear I was 1/10 of a second from 6900 one of the times but alas.

I don't think it's coincidental.  It's probably because you are cornering better now.

Yes, probably but at least one time I took "long" time before reaching the top and still got 6800. So I guess it also has to do with the factors stellablue talks about.

Hopefully my cornering is getting better; although I wish my cornering was better on springs as I keep standing still at bottom of ladder rather than racing up (damn keyboard!)

Are you getting both prizes also? that's part of the run.

mine did include both Prizes! that is why i was shocked to see the Time bonus.

I just realized you were playing on a save state so of course you're going to get the same free ride and ladder if you operate the keys the same each time.

yes  same save state but only once in Hundreds of plays have had 6800

I had 6800 a few times.

The last time i got it was just a few days ago, by performing the Vincent Lemay "YOLO" pattern.
I ran through this L=6 board without waiting for the fireballs, one spawned left, one right. I got lucky that the right fireball went down as i jumped over for the 2nd price.

But i also managed to do it with a safe pattern, but its very rare, so i'm happy with a "67 from heaven"

Ive done 7200 going up the left side straight away. I was wasting my lives and trying to get killed by the fireballs but they let me up. I'll look and see if I still have the video.
