Does anyone know if the new generated passwords are absolutely mandatory? Is anyone able to connect to Twitch IRC at all just using their Twitch password anymore? I would absolutely HATE having to deal with these generated passwords.
However, my IRC chat (using hexchat) is now broken and has been for several days and I'm wondering if this is the problem. I continue to get a sequence of messages in IRC that say that I am connected and logged in, but then there's something that says:
CAP :Unknown command
then I get an error message and am disconnected. This happens over and over and over again, never staying connected.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please post here or send me an IM. It's really nearly impossible to get the full experience within this community without the ability to chat.
