3K is not even 1 months rent in NYC.  I once told my brother that the DK machine in our living room is not even worth a fraction of the value of the space it occupies (~$1000/sq ft).

I hope Chris (Kaneda) hasn't soured to the whole CAG scene because of his rough first year in collecting.

I'm not a KLOV member, but this isn't the first time I've heard about bullying in that community.  No one should be elitist because of their tenure in the hobby, and I'm glad we don't see any of that bullshit here at DKF.

Here at DKF, we love new players.

It doesn't seem to me that Chris is someone from whom the hobby needs protecting, and if in fact there are some KLOV members who think they are doing God's work by further isolating the community, they need a reality check.  They need to take a look at old CAGDC, and view the harmfulness of that type of mentality on full display.

I read the article twice.  The first time I merely skimmed through it; then, after some gentle prodding (nay, bullying  ) from Chris P, I gave it a more thorough reading.

During that second go-round, I noticed the "kaneda" forum handle.  It looked familiar, and I wondered where I had seen it before.  Eventually, I realized it was Chris Kooluris who had initiated this very thread.  Duh.

I've only been around here a little over a month but so far this has been one of the most welcoming communities around a specific interest I've ever been involved in. You summed it up pretty well in a previous post stating it's not us against each other, it's us against the machine (and it's freakin wild barrels and asshole fireballs) which is spot on.

I joined KLOV around the same time I joined this forum. So far I've had positive experiences over there. With some helpful guidance from some of the KLOV members, I was able to repair my DK joystick. That said, I've seen the elitist attitude come out on a few of the threads.

It's 500$ per month for me. You said "not even 1 month", I think I remember you saying 1 month was 3,2k in New York? As usual, you're 2,7k over than me.
