D2K Spring Strategy
« on: September 03, 2013, 05:35:43 am »

Well, I think I've determined my strategy for approaching the D2K springs. Levels 1, 2, and 3 have random springs, while Levels 4 and higher always have the same length that gradually increases. Level 4 has Type 4 springs, Level 5 has Type springs, etc. all the way to Type 14 springs in Level 14.

Levels 1, 2, and 3 will be approached similar to DK in that I will always be trying to go up from the right side (1st safe spot). Based on what I've learned from my "Spring Theory" experiment, it looks as if playing from the right side is also the way to go for Levels 4, 5, 6, and 7. There is greater wiggle room from the 1st safe spot on Levels 4 and 5, and Levels 6 and 7 are essentially a wash. In the table below, "2nd SSWR" stands for "2nd Safe Spot Wiggle Room", and...well, you can figure out the rest. ;D

          Type    2nd SSWR  1st SSWR
Level 1   random   varies    varies
Level 2   random   varies    varies
Level 3   random   varies    varies
Level 4     4        11        18
Level 5     5        21        26
Level 6     6        18        19
Level 7     7        19        18
Level 8     8        10         5
Level 9     9        11         4
Level 10   10         7        -4
Level 11   11         8        -5
Level 12   12         4       -13
Level 13   13         5       -14
Level 14   14        -1       -23
