DK Repair Question
« on: December 16, 2021, 10:50:44 am »
I have an early 1980s DK arcade game. I?m having an issue with horizontal and vertical hold. Basically I get a screen that is unusable, see attached. I tried using the H/V adjustment screws to no avail. There is no one I can find that will work on this system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a flow chart of some common problem with the monitor, looks like you'll probably have to have a cap kit done. I did one on my machine about 7-8 years ago and the result were like new. Not an easy task, but not super hard if you have a little skill soldering. Not something I'd personally like to do again, but I was desperate at the time to have my machine's monitor looking better.

Try tweeking the pot on the monitor chassis, under the tube near the front left.  VR451.

Where are you located?  Maybe if you live near someone who can help.

I live in Glen Carbon Illinois. I?ve tried every resource in the area and those that do this kind of work don?t want or need the additional work.
