Richie Knucklez VS. Donkey Kong Cab

Richie sent me some pictures of the progress on his VS. DK cab.


























































He's hoping to unveil it on Saturday nights Arcade Culture Show.

Yeah, I saw that on FB and inquired about the monitors. Given the DK monitor setup is angled back and directly in front it looked like they might hit. But, didn't get a serious response,LOL: "Doh! They dont fit! scrapping the project. whoever wants this beast come get it"

But, Looks like from these that the monitors will be mounted completely vertical  to avoid the collision and see each other's gameplay. Be interesting to see once completed.

Yeah, Dave, I thought the same thing the very first time I saw a pic of a versus cab. I like how when Richie does a project, he does it right! The man is fast at fixing/making these cabs well! He did the same high-quality work with his Space Invaders cab a while back and that was fun to watch as well.

Yeah, I'm sure it'll look great. Angled monitor is perfect when standing. Vertical mount is perfect when sitting. Not sure how gameplay will change with the monitor vertical and slightly angled , guess it will be just like looking at a mame computer monitor vertically. I get stumped on springs if I'm not standing exact centered with the board sometime.

The only design change I would make would be to that space between the control panels. This should be a beer holder.

I think it's a huge waste of space if you ask me...  If i recall right this machines are quite big.

But for who's beer?! It doesn't look like it's big enough to hold two. It would have to be the "Champion's Beer Holder."

Due to its orientation it is a bit less wide than 2 DKs side by side.  So he's actually saving space.  #pipe&smokeit
