During the Kong-Off Billy hogged a machine to himself, whilst all the non-Americans had to line up, play a game, then line up again. Some of the other machine had issues - One had trouble getting games started, another had a joystick which stuck on occasion, and one had a poor image on the screen. I felt Billy acted like a dick in general (but I guess he can because "he's Billy Mitchell"). He complained about the (relatively recent at the time) accusations of cheating.
In the final series on the Sunday he competed against his friend Richie Knuckles, and his son Jnr*, hardly a hard way to the 'Grand Final'. He did beat Barra in the 'GF' though, and Barra had been drinking performance enhancing beers all day. From memory after Barra was out Billy had to keep playing for a while as he was on a much slower pace. A win by Billy on the day? Yeah, but meh. Billy and his cheating was the elephant in the room which I feel soured the event.
* Before playing his son, Billy whispered something into Jnr's ear, and Jnr had a really strong reaction to what Snr said. I thought maybe Snr had told his son he was going to throw the game so that his son could take some of the limelight. I don't know what was said but <heresay> maybe it was the other way around? </heresay>
