The Vortex Arcade in Sherwood, Arkansas will be hosting Kong Klash X to all competitors. This event is in-person only, no online entries.
The event will be held on October 5th 2019 with three divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, and Professional division. The doors will open for players on Saturday at 10am. We are taking sign-ups from the time of this post until 11:45 am on the 5th. The event will start at 12pm sharp and last quarter will drop at 10:30pm. Bounties will be paid immediately as they are won. All First Place prizes will be paid in-person at the end of the day.
Beginner Division: 0 - 149,000 points ($125 First Place prize)
Intermediate Division: 150,000 - 449,000 points ($250 First Place prize)
Professional Division: 450,000 - 1,247,700 points ($500 First Place prize)
Entry into the event is $15, this covers your admission into the arcade and the entry fee for the event itself. There will also be random $50 bounties throughout the tournament.
The event is planned to have 10 Donkey Kong cabinets but we are hoping to have some more, no promises though! We will do what we can to accommodate a large number of competitors.
If any competitors come from out of state, they will be placed in a division respective to their skill at the time of their scoreboard rankings. Any competitor not on the rankings will have the choice of which division to compete in. Competitors unsure of which division to be placed into will be given a grace period to play a few honest games and be placed into an appropriate division. It is recommended that unranked players arrive when the doors open to put a few games in. Any competitors that outperform their divisions by a large margin will be placed into the next bracket to keep play fair. THIS IS NON-DEBATABLE WHEN A JUDGE MAKES THE CALL. THE JUDGE'S CALL WILL BE FINAL. This will eliminate any suggestion of sandbagging.
