El Fin del Tiempo Challenge and Bounty

Last summer it was revealed that an original Spanish arcade video game from the early eighties had been found and repaired and dumped for inclusion in MAME.

For the player to score the highest on El Fin del Tiempo between now and Sunday April 14, 2019 at 2300 hours US Central Standard Time I have a t-shirt:



Post .inp files to this thread. You must use WolfMAME .199 or higher. Use MAME default settings. The inp file must play back for myself or someone that I trust. I reserve the right to invoke a one-hour time limit if players can play too long. If you need a hint where to find the ROMset, PM me.

Additionally for the first to exceed 100,000 points by May 8, 2019, I will offer a $100 (usd) bounty.

But wait, there's more! For the first to exceed 1,000,000 points by May 8, 2019, I will offer a $300 (usd) bounty.

For the monetary bounties, you must stream the performance live on Twitch, and at the time of the performance must be listed in the forum's Twitch streamer list, administrated in this thread, so that we can see when you are playing. Afterwards you will need to save a video of the game on Twitch and attach the inp file here. Payment to be made by Paypal only.

Got it downloaded and running.  Game should be a Crap Tournament unto itself.  It's different, though.  Nice idea, I don't see collecting a bounty in my future, though.

You fetch those little canisters at the bottom and take them into the ship.

strats for the game
stage 1-survive and pick up fuel
stage 2-survive by going in a circle
stage 3-pick up things on ground and leech the ufo spawn
stage 4-kill 5000 point enemy and kill all but last enemy and sac and kill 5000 point again
stage 5-kill all enemies and watch out for nuke in the middle
stage 3 gives you 45 secs and it resets when you bring the thing into the ship so you can leech the ufo spawn for 300 points per kill but watch out for sniper bullet

good luck whoever wants to go for 100k
if you use the strats you should be able to get 100k by loop 4 or 5
the 3rd stage 1 starts to get harder cause the enemies will start to fire bullets at you

Yeah, at my level if you're going to die, this is the place to do it. That 5000 point ship is the most lucrative thing in the game and it respawns with every new life.

My best was 32,850 after some save stating to see what's coming next.  I'm not seeing 100k happening unless some trick is found to get past the first stage in level 3.  But time is a good teacher and who knows what will be found.

My best was dying in Loop 3, Stage 1 with most of my deaths on the 5000 point ship stage. I just figured somebody more talented would be able to beat Stage 1 even with the enemies now firing bullets.

I'm the idiot who thought this would be easy.  I'm stuck in the low 30ks.  Great game and then it just nukes you.  Nice find, Weehawk.

Pretty sure your bounties are very secure.  I made some progress in save states and got to 100k.  The game gets a little harder in that it fires more often and some enemies move faster.
