50-50 chance a wolf contest for charity to appear
« on: March 06, 2018, 10:39:17 am »
I been tossing the idea around for awhile and just wondering if there is interest if I ran a contest for charity should say it will be a legit contest. I am thinking $5 donation to enter the contest and can gift entries if you donate more money. I am still thinking of what the type of contest will be team or individual, if team how will it be I still have regrets never hosting the usa vs world or east coast vs west coast vs rest of world. so just let me know if there is interest and the 50-50 might become into a contest.

also what charity should the money go to? right now I was thinking doctors without border, st jude's, or looking up another good charity

North America vs World would be sweet and very competitive I would think.

I'd donate.  I'd donate even more if we could donate to avoid  <pacman> games or something

how does those sound as the teams cause I did a scoring system test and Murica was far in the lead with just two games played. the only two things confirmed so far are $5 to enter and the charity is doctors without borders

Yay!

Finally, the possibility of a new Wolf tournie!  8)

A tournament where serial cheaters and compulsive liars aren't ever welcome.

How refreshing.

what are people's opinion on having the contest be for example you play the first week of april, off 2nd week, play 3rd week of april, off 4th, and play last week of april?

Yeah specific locations in the US might be a bit tricky.  Maybe US vs World instead?   They're getting Pro, TRB, etc, just at a quick glance of previous tourneys it seems reasonable.  If you need to handicap it, maybe players can only submit x number of games or something.

It can be tough doing off-on-off-on unless there are different games for each "on" session. Since you'd have time where people shouldn't be making runs in between time when they're allowed to, it would be a challenge to make sure that runs were not done on the off time.

So, maybe new games for each "on" session, and maybe don't announce them until it's "on" again.

Also, if you require INPs then forget everything I said since they carry time stamps. Good contribution, Ben. Weeeee!

Also - East Coast 4 Lyfe

East Coast v. West Coast v. World sounds sweet but yeah anyone in the heartland would have to pick a side.

That's why the Midwest Draft makes sense. Coasts can select Midwest players.

I'm guessing anyone living between the Ohio River and the Colorado River would be "Midwest" but I have no idea. I just know you being from Ohio would identify as Midwest and me next door in WV would certainly identify as East Coast.
