Pace Chart

I know there was a pace chart on CAG but I cant seem to login.  Hank had posted a chart on there for all kinds of pace and I had a really good game going last night and I couldnt estimate where my pace was.  I dont have the program and rather just have a chart to look at.  I was at 346,200 after level 8 with no deaths and ended on 12-1 after being at 538k after level 11.

Looks like 1.1 at least, depending on how your pace dwindled. If you could maintain 57k, maybe low 1110k. That could be wrong, so someone correct me if it is. Someone needs to post that pace chart here, maybe sticky it or something?

Well 12-2 is the half way point so essentially double your score and that's your pace, plus 24k or so for the 12-1 points...so yea that's right around 1.1M pace.

If you want to be more accurate, plugged your numbers into my simple Excel thing I made...(538,000/57) x 116 + 700 = 1,094,900.

The only problem there, Mike, is that the points from deaths are contributing to the stage average for Levels 1-11 (assuming 3 deaths occurred during Levels 9-11, with the final one coming on L12-1).  Also, did you intend to divide 538k by 57, or 56?

Since I don't know the start, I'll ignore it, and I'll assume an average of 5000 points per death in the 2 examples below.

1)  Using Mike's "average per screen" approach gets us very close to 1.1 million:

Pace = 116 x (( 538000 - 15000 ) / 56 ) + 15000 + 700 = 1,099,100

2)  Weighting Levels 9 through 11 more heavily gives us a higher pace:

Pace = 538000 + (( 538000 - 346200 - 15000 ) / ( 11 - 8 )) x ( 21 - 11 ) + 700 = 1,128,000

Either way, you had a possible 1.1 million point game in progress.

From the deaths you described in your fb post:

barrel death after 2 hammers, usually good for 9-10K

conveyer death usually good for 3K unless the fireballs descended on you before the hammer

barrel death after 1 hammer, usually good for 3K

last death? so we'll say 3K

that's a total of 18K.

If you had a 127K start, you were averaging 56,143 per level by the end of L11.

Multiply by 17, add back the start and the points from deaths, I get 1.099M pace assuming you would be able to maintain the same average pace throughout.

As Vince said, you usually slow your pace down at the end (whether intentional or not), so I'd say 1.09M.  That's pretty darn good!

Wow this is some really great stuff!  I know I should learn more about this stuff when going for a higher score.  Hopefully I can get a good run at a great score and get to the end.  Thanks a lot!
