Kong Off 4: How should we select the top 10 players?
« on: March 30, 2015, 07:04:45 pm »
Hello everyone!

Richie has asked me to help out in determining how the top 10 players should be selected for the KO 4. We have a strict deadline of Wednesday night April 1st to determine this (2 days). I have decided just to do a simple vote and to use the opinion of the DKF (since of course we are the center of the DK universe).  If you have another suggestion please comment below.

IMPORTANT: Anyone who could be in the top 10 and cannot make the event, please let Richie and myself know in writing ASAP.

Also, Richie would like someones help in collecting the top 10 player pics, bios, etc. Anyone who is interested and can lend a hand please contact Richie ASAP. Richie is working on getting the contest website updated ASAP.

Note: Both Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell are already in.

After the method for top 10 is determined, is there a cut-off date determined yet for making the top 10? Or is April 1 the actual cut off date for who the players are?

Second, whoever is gathering info should also pick up alternates given that top 10 may shift around before then.

I thought this was already decided. Jeff was picking the top 10 and he referenced the top of the page. Eric was picking the wildcards and that was what the DKO's were for. We just need to know how many spots are available and if there are any walk up cabs. After that just run down the list and see who is going. ;D

Wow, I am pro Arcade plus MAME, but I had no clue that the support for it was this strong.  Very happy to see. 8)

Note: Both Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell are already in and will have their own dedicated machines.

What's the format?  I'm so confused...

What was the point of the DKOOs?

Yeah the cutoff for me getting in the top 10 would be nice to know. I'll start grinding now but when is it? Usually it's about 60 - 45 days prior or so so I would assume you have until say June 1 or jun 15

How do dedicated machines factor into a bracket-style tournament?

Being asked to vote on arcade only verses arcade and mame this year sure beats the not being asked and having a song written about it last year. I voted arcade and mame.

The dedicated machine statement was my typo and I updated the original post. Richie will announce the contest format at some point.

The KO 4 cut off date to make the top 10 is June 30, 2015.

I'm in 6th spot right now, but as unlucky as I am, I'm sure Wes, Jeff Willms, Jeff Wolfe, Steve Wiltshire and Dave Mccrary will squeeze between me and Hank, just like everyboddy seems to do  and I'll end up in 11th  Kappa

Joke aside, good luck to those that wanna make it to top 10! 3 months left exactly!

The KO 4 cut off date to make the top 10 is June 30, 2015.

I need to get busy again if I want to make this date.

Jeff Harrist....Could we slip a countdown timer on the main page for KO4 qualification deadline? I mean only if it's easy, if not, no biggie.
