Personally I'm playing on Mame thru a original Xbox with a type S controller.  I fucking love this game and the labor of love that it is. That's all. Peace

I use MAME with either an X-Arcade or PS3 controller. Most of my hours have been with the controller though, so that's what I voted.

I did have a cab, but now I use my modded X-Arcade to play on MAME.  Good to see some action on this game.

I don't play d2k often but when I do I play on my DK cab with the d2k/ high score save kit. The kit is great because you can quickly restart a game of DK by pressing 2 buttons rather than having to take the time to kill off remaining lives.

Mine is on coins-only (no freeplay, because every time I put a quarter in it strokes my childhood  Kreygasm ), so oil can for me!

Jumpman that sounds like a pretty rad cab. I need to at very least get a x arcade. How much for a DK machine with a d2k kit? Any idea?

$400-$600 for a garden variety working DK that hasn't been restored.  $79 for the Braze multi kit to add D2K.

i've got the dk-cab with the d2k-kit installed,
had it shipped from us to europe,
it cost me a bit more then €600 and 3+ months wait
but it was worth every €/day!

I play on a Mac using SDL Mame with an X-Box 360 controller. It works great but this game is hard (for me at least). I mean, I love all the Donkey Kong games, but I'm just not that good. Don't be looking for me in the High Scores threads . . . hehe! ;D
