I'm not sure where to put this, but since there are some strategy related posts in this thread, I'll put it here I guess.
I was recently corresponding with someone on youtube, and he was interested in seing some early screen strategies, a decent first hideout pattern and how to get the 4th spark smash on that screen in particular. I made a video for him the other night (which really doesn't explain anything, I was explaining things through PMs). I know many of the top players know to try and get the 4th spark smash, but I'm not sure of the different ways people use to time it right. I'll try and explain how I do it below.
Here is the video. You can ignore the rest and go to about 12 minute into the video. I think the best way to do it (for me) is to watch the release of the blue spark at the top, and since the speed of all of the sparks are the same, you can tell right then if you have a chance to smash 4 based on where the red spark is at the time of the blue spark's release. (that released blue spark is the one you wait for to spawn into 3)
If you go to 12:32 in the video, the blue spark released right at that second is a "good" spark to take the triple smash, because the red spark below is in the right spot, if I am making sense. Now, the problem is that in order to get all 4 that blue spark has to spawn 3 times from the chutes before you pull the trigger on the apple. The good news is that there are probably 4 or 5 opportunities in a screen to pull it off. So no I don't think it's possible to do it every screen, but I figure it should add 15k give or take to a final score in a killscreen game...
