Well, its been over 500 days since I posted on this blog. Based on a suggestion from a viewer in my chat, I will be posting periodic updates in my quest to secure a spot for myself in the top 10 and my road to Kong Off 5.
From my last post, I have accomplished the following:
January 19, 2015: First Killscreen, 798,600
April 16, 2015: First Crazy Kong killscreen, 513,700
January-June: A hell of a lot of starts and 1-1 attempts.
August 30, 2015: 912,400 Killscreen
October 29, 2015: 935,100 21-5
October 30, 2015: 914,200 Hard Roms Killscreen, New world record live at galloping ghost arcade
November 7, 2015: 1,004,100 Killscreen, First 1 million point score
For the most part, I found that the majority of my attempts from my first 5 months of 1 million were a waste of time due to the fact that I was going for 130k+ starts, for some reason. After I abandoned this, I began to progress very quickly, and a 1 million score came soon enough.
Top 10 Quest!:
November 19,2015: 409,100, 1.11m pace. First real game of 1.1
- Good grouping execution
- Issues with wall jumping occasionally
- Death in the start, played it out anyways
I estimate that if I do not go for larger starts, I should reach 1.1m points by this summer. I will be updating this blog as frequently as I remember to do so, and I will post occasional strategies that I find interesting.
