No progress in the way of DK lately (or joust for that matter). A few games around 500k but nothing spectacular. Waiting for that next breakthrough game!

An online MAME competition has re-ignited my interest in
Mr Do's Wild Ride. I first played this in the TG 2011 Deca comp but had not touched it again until now. The current MAME WR is 132,244. This is my primary goal, with a secondary goal of 150,000. I was reading through some old threads on TG and back in 2004 a bounty had been set up for this title (among numerous other titles) for anyone to score 150,000 or more points. It was not claimed. The arcade record is 130,524 set in 1984.
The game is patternable, but only to a certain extent. Sometimes the game throws impossible cart combinations at you, and sometimes the timing of the carts is different, so you have to be on your toes. This randomisation becomes harder when the carts get faster as you progress through the levels.
It is not one of the well known Mr Do. games, but definitely the one I enjoy most.
Other than that, not much happening. Got exams (
) coming up in a couple of weeks so that should be fun.
Oh and I changed the name of the blog.
