Yea that would be cool Tim. I suck with a keyboard though, so no way I would attempt it...let alone the 6-7 hours it would take.
The coolest thing would be if Steve actually took the time to try, and actually get that 3M+ score. It could be a roundabout way for him to vindicate his lie.
You don't need to be restricted to a key board when playing DK on mame. I actually use an original control panel wired into a usb connector and mame picks up input from a controller other than a keyboard. Is just like playing the arcade.
I even go so far as to use an old CRT monitor with the classic scanline feature mame offers.
Steves 3 mill score may have been a hoax at the time, but still I thought it was worth mentioning in the doc as it is a unique part of the scoring history of the game. I think we all make boasts when were young, thats not the problem.
The problem is Steve got a contract out of KOK for this (10k I believe). While my score was real, a WR at the time, I went through proper channels and several years latter it gets covered up and written out? What happened to my $10k contract?
Besides I could beat Steve Saunders any day of the week on DK..............sadly, even when I was 11 or 12 years old. Steve would not stand a chance against some of the top 10 guys now,.... kill screen or not.
