FWIW, according to this account Jeff Brandt's and Kent Farries's games were killscreens.http://www.classicarcadegaming.com/contests/Nov1982/index.htmAlso, there was at some brief point a TG listing for a Joe Malasarte of over 1m but there is really no way to know if it was a killscreen, or why it was ever removed from the books. Same with Calvin Frampton's removed score, it too was listed by TG at one point and according to his and eyewitnesses accounts he experienced what sounds like a killscreen. It doesn't sound like either one of those two meet the criteria for the list obviously, but it is an interesting part of the history.
Utilizing this information, Kent Farries reached level 'E' on his first man, but purposefully killed each subsequent one off, in order to remain on this screen, and maximize the points available.
I have a confirmed DK Jr. Failscreen.
Thanks for this! From what I can tell, it actually sounds as if Kent Farries' games wasn't a killscreen. It sounds like he sacrificed all of his men on Level E! Not sure if that results in more points somehow, or what. Maybe I'm just reading it too literally, I'm not sure. Regardless, thanks for the info. Actually, it doesn't make sense point-wise to kill off your last man on Level 'E' since you are losing points on a whole screen (chain level), and the killscreen. But, who knows...they may not have thought of that at the time haha. I always assumed they were played out to the killscreen.
Hey Chris, do you have a Twitch recording of your game anywhere? Or the inps/MARP at all? I'd love to get your score on the HSL.
