Thanks for putting these charts together, it really does help point out a lot. Compare Wolfe's game to Willm's 1.107M game. (fairly close score, but it was achieved completely different).
Donkey Kong (Arcade): 1,108,100

Donkey Kong 1-1: 12,900

Additional Information

For much of the Level 16-1 (barrel) and 16-2 (conveyor) stages, neither the current score nor the bonus timer was visible on-screen.  In addition, the stream was experiencing noticeable lag during that portion of the game.  As a result, I have estimated the scores for those 2 boards.  I'm fairly confident that both are pretty close (+/- 200 points).

Congratulations on your first killscreen, Dan!

Now, if you would only get rid of a couple of those crappy songs on your 1980s playlist.   ;)

Brian Scott only computes from lvl 5+ for avg/max/etc.

Hi Brian,

Jason (JNugent) posed a similar question a while back.  Levels 01 through 04 are not included in the maximum, minimum, and average stats.  Those calculations only apply to Level 05 and beyond.

From my initial post in this topic:

Each data summary reports the score for every individual stage and level, points resulting from deaths (and on what stages they occurred), the cumulative score, an overall pace calculation at the end of each completed level (beginning with L5), and a few basic L5+ summary statistics (maximum, minimum, and average).

Sorry for the confusion.

EDIT:  I see that Dan has already provided the explanation.  Notoriously slow typing on my part.   :)

Thanks Scott for putting this together. You can see with the low 108K start I came out the level 5 gate strong for a while, but must have backed off after my first death. Ashame to see the pace drop as low as it did by the end.

Dave, I performed a very basic "what if" analysis on your game, with the following edits:
  • Adjusted the start to a more typical 118K
  • Replaced the L12 spring death (0 points) with a 10K sac on L21-5
  • Eliminated the final spring death, substituting your L05+ stage averages for the last 3 boards on L21
Even with the pace reduction during the game's latter half, the KS score projects to 1.079 million.

I have reason to believe Jeff cheated in this game.  His rivet average of 8,300 is impossible without use of the hammer.

Seriously though, that's a crazy rivet average.  All that no hammer must have helped.

Thanks for tipping me off, Hank.  I'll have to keep my eye on that Wolfe character.  He's a slippery one.   ;)

By the way, I'll have to take another look at your 1.061M game.  It's a crime that I don't have you represented already.

No worries!

Hopefully I'll have something higher soon.  I may have actually done an analysis on that game already.  I'll see if I can find it... will save you some trouble of deciphering scores from poorly focused streams.
