I found a copy through my library system that I read when I was first learning on my DK cocktail machine. After reading it I went from a 200k personal best to like 442k overnight. It covers the majority of the important stuff, that you wouldn't necessarily know without more experience or watching others play.
Later I got lucky and won an ebay auction for a lot of these books, Video Master's Guide to Donkey Kong, Video Master's Guide to Defender, Video Master's Guide to Pac-Man, and one other Pac-Man guide book, all for $60.
I brought my copy to the KO2 where Steve Sanders, Steve Wiebe, Billy Mitchell, and Hank Chien all signed it. Pretty awesome.
The content is still valid, even though it obviously doesn't cover the killscreen, or million points scores pressing techniques. I just like it as a piece of history in the DK storyline.
