So its spring time and apparently its nerd fight season... I've followed the CAGDC thread about the BOTA and I've had enough or Pigger talking smack bout the sabotage. I dug back thru the email thread talking about it and I'll post the relevant portion here so he can see it and realize what a dipshit he really is. I was willing and actually tried to find a different date but no suitable date was available. Suck it
It reads bottom to top...

Okay, no prob on the date; we can say we tried... but it looks like changing would just put it way off schedule. So if anybody talks shit about it... tuff.
As far as game selection, I haven't heard any questions/issues from people; as far as we're concerned, we'll play whatever anybody says. BRING IT!
Regarding one day vs. a day and a half... would it be separated by a sleeping period, or were you thinking about just going straight through the night? We haven't 100% solidified our venue yet. Our first choice is of course ACAM, but its not set in stone yet. If it ends up that we're at ACAM, I don't think they'll let us play through the night. I do like the idea of another 1/2 day on Sunday, just to give one more short opportunity for players to try and improve one or two of their scores before the end, and you're right that it might be tough to squeeze in 8-10 players playing 10 games.

I talked it over with a few other players, some from the Knucklez/Wagner team and some from our west coast team and it looks like we need to keep the date the 24th. While I see there may be some backlash about it conflicting with the CAGDC tournament, the CAGDC tournament is in conflict with the Midwest Gaming Classic and I don’t see a lot of talk about how it was intentional. The original date works for the West coast team and well as the Knucklez team. We are going to leave it as scheduled and move of from their.

PS Does the NH/Northeast team have any game objections or are we cool with the game list. What about 1 day VS 1.5? We would like to see 1.5, 12 games and 10 players will put a lot of pressure on in one day.

One of Ken's players is apparently unable to play on 3/31. 3/17 will likely interfere with people celebrating St.Patrick's Day especially for us drinkers and 3/24 is the CADGC and Midwest Gaming Classic tourneys, I think Easter is the first weekend in April so that's out.
What date shall we choose?

So my thoughts are…
I know it seems like this is done intentionally to poke the pigger a little and in a way it is but in a way its not. On our team, no one has even though about going to the CAGDC tournament and I know a lot of Richies guys are local and really wouldn’t be traveling there either. It really is of little impact to either event to be on the same weekend.
That being said, if you all can find a time around then that don’t conflict with any other event I’ll run any dates by my guys. I want it to be a positive event so if we have to tip toe around the pigger to make one or two people happy so be it.

Hi everyone,
We here in New England are super excited about this event. But I do have one concern.
Steve and I were chatting about this event, and apparently our "Battle of the Arcades" is happening right at the same time as another video gaming event; Mark Alpiger's tournament. I've also been hearing from outside sources that there's a rumor floating around that our event was specifically and intentionally scheduled to conflict with Mark Alpiger's tournament. Whether or not this is true, I really think if we proceed this way, it will just really make our event "smell".
I really think we want to remove any opportunity for people to say anything negative about our competition, and therefore I strongly suggest we pick a different date. Steve and I were chatting about this, and we're both in agreement.
I know how most of us feel about Mark Alpiger, but whether its his event we're conflicting with or anyone else's... we just don't need to give people a reason to talk crap about what we're doing. Let's keep this as positive as we can, and make it a different date that doesn't conflict with anyone else's video game event, so that nobody can be accused of trying to one-up or steal thunder from someone else's event. Also, there are players who I'm sure would like to participate in both events, and as there aren't too many video gaming events over the course of a year, I think it would be a really good gesture for us to give people an opportunity to succeed and enjoy each and every one.
Can we please reconsider the date?
Thanks for listening.
