Fast Eddie wins, I made it to 7-6, he is on level 8 and still going with 3 lives :) I had 2 early stupid deaths on level 2 and 3 and got trapped on 2 rivet levels :) Good game Fast Eddie and good luck in the next round!

Still cant find a good enough connection to play Mitch, so I will have to forfeit.  Good luck to everyone else!

Ugh, that sucks dude. Any way you can make an INP starting at a designated time (I can choose the time, so that way you can't feign that you started at a time but are just saying so after the fact) that we will be able to see is from that time and not just the best attempt of many? If so, maybe Jeff would be cool with that, and it would be proof enough for me that you played a fair attempt. I don't know how INPs all work and stuff, so maybe that's not even possible. But jeff made the rules, so it's his call.

Mitch I was trying to set the tournament up so that the players were the judges and I would only step in if a conflict developed. Live games that everyone could watch is the format. If Robbie can't stream at this time I think you have to accept his forfeit. I would however like to see a match between you and someone to advance to the finals but the time frame may be too short to set this up. In the original rules I said a random loser of a round would advance if an odd number of players entered the next round. This is in effect what has happened with Robbie being unable to play. The losers of round one were :Dan, JeffH, Craig, Chris, John, and Me. So a draw should be done to pick a new opponent and play before tomorrow night. I don't know how many of those listed could do this so an alternate plan may be needed. If may be best for available players from both rounds to announce their availability or have Robbie pick a replacement. Any input on this issue is welcome.

This is still a work in progress and some things will have to be changed for any future contests with this format. Finding a time to play seems to be a big problem so when the finals start I  think a new approach needs to be tried since getting three players to pick a time may be asking too much.

Players in the finals will announce when they will be playing at least 24 hours before starting so everyone gets a chance to watch. The other finalists or a person or persons assigned by the finalists will need to verify the stream.

Thanks Jeff. Just so you know, I'm not upset... I just don't like just walking to the next round when others are earning their way. O well,  that's the breaks. I know that all of these issues will eventually be ironed out with time. I still plan on playing a game tomorrow night even if I don't have a competitor. If I don't have someone to play against, I will be using Ross' reverse-Weave method for all the rivets to see how it goes and how well I can utilize that particular strategy.

Let me know if you draw someone for me to play against. I'm sure most of them could pull off playing on such a short notice!

P.s. I have to go to bed early tonight, cuz I may have to work snow removal all day tomorrow (starting as early as 3am), so I may be unable to see future posts until mid afternoon! As soon as I get home I will check the forums and be prepared to stream after a quick shower if need be. Sorry if you can't quickly get a hold of me! I wasn't expecting this much snow in April!

That is what I thought! ;) I'm sure others can too, so if Robbie agrees to it (meaning, he verifies that he indeed has to forfeit), I think drawing another competitor this late and having them be available is still quite feasible.

I would be available as a replacement.  :)

You were my first thought, Jeff.

My apologies for offering an opinion on a tournament I'm not even involved with (aside from viewing), but here goes:

The most straightforward approach is for Robbie's Round One opponent (Jeff H) to advance in his place.

Robbie and I played our match tonight and both games ended on 7-6. Robbie wins the tiebreaker with a score of 197,700 to my 190.700.

Obviously, Jeff is also a qualified replacement, as evidenced by the close first round match.  Dual 7-6 games, decided by the tiebreaker.

Seems like a no brainer, at least to me.
