How about we all post some highlights/strategy tips and such for the GBOY games so that the untalented humps like me can maybe have a hope of cracking top 5 on some of these?

Some tips about games I know about:

19xx: Get S rank on at least the first boss. If you don't restart.

Raiden: The bomb bonus (# of bombs x # of medals collected, a perfect score on lvl 1 is 44k bonus for instance) is nice at the end of a stage, but it isn't worth anything if you die trying to get there. Don't be ashamed about using bombs, notably later in the second stage when the two green ships come down at the same time. One well-placed bomb inbetween them will make your life a lot easier. Also, the blue laser is much quicker at taking out bosses, particularly the stage 1 bosses. When the first stage one boss spawns, put your ship right on top of it and start firing like crazy. With the blue laser you can generally kill the first one before it fires. Beware of the two/three tanks that come in from the sides during the fight.

Sonic Wings: Always be shooting scenery. When you destroy things they're often filled with bonus points. Also beware of the speed increase that comes at the beginning of a stage when you haven't died for a while. It gets pretty hectic real quick.

Macross: Another game where scenery destruction is important, for every medal you get it increases in value 1,000 points up to 10k I think. Maxing this value and keeping it maxed by not dying is very important for score. I also think the B weapon that shoots the green homing missiles is the best weapon.

yes,is allowed i think,if you start with 2P button you start with a blue ship,it's regular,don't need 2 credit for start

First off, thank you to both Barra and Brendan .... (who Rossayy?)........for tips/ videos on 19xx

I'm posting this because I was able to up my score thanks to their advice and in order to help with the learning curve for others here are some tips (again thanks to the guys above).

So in order to get decent points you need to get to the bosses/end of the board, while destroying as many enemies as possible along the way.
the real points however are made by beating the bosses with an "S Rank" (in other words you have to defeat the end level bosses within a particular time.)

Note: defeating the stage and end level bosses without using any bombs throughout seems to be the way to go (more points)  ("are those my parentheses?")

for the first boss you gotta defeat him in under 10 seconds, also getting 100% of the enemies will increase the payout overall, so as Brendan stated ..If you don't get an S rank on the first boss just restart.

A few save states and you will be nailing 100% enemies plus an S Rank on the boss in no time

However after grinding the shit out of the second boss (real pain in the ass) I recommend you do it the way this guy does it in this video..for the 2nd stage and boss only!

So basically use the first video to learn how to beat the first stage and boss with 100% enemy kill rate and an S Rank on the boss.

and use the second video to learn how to get 95%+ kill rate with an S Rank on the second stage/Boss.

It will no doubt help the learning curve.

Extra lives in bomb jack earn every 150-200k

Excluding the score obtained in the special bonus of 23-22-21-20 bombs

Yellow letter ‘‘E‘‘ appear around the stage
