So Close To a Crazy Kong Kill Screen!

I highlighted the game, if anyone wants to watch it, or at least watch my final death on the L=21 rivets. *Sigh*.  Anyway, I'm still trying for a kill screen, if anyone is interested.

Bad luck Jason, it really is a thrill when you do make the kill screen for the first time.   I doubt I'll ever do it in DK, so I must over the moon when I did it in CK.  Your score beat my KS by about 8,000 I think.   I've been meaning to get back into CK, really would like to try and point press a bit and try for 600k.

Anyone interested in putting together a CK high scores lists similar to what Corey has put together?  I don't really have the time to maintain it, but I could probably do the initial list from TG & Marp.

Crazy kong goes to level 22. I did not know that. So arethe scores so low because of the top hammer really is out of reach?

Sort of.  Yeah, most players never get the top hammer at all.  But remember, Crazy Kong has 22 levels, but 4 screens per level, so a total of 85 screens, including the kill screen.  DK has 117 screens.  This is probably what accounts for the lower scoring.  A typical CK kill screen will be 525-575k.  However, point pressing (mostly the barrels) can yield 700k, according to Phil Tudose, who has the current high score on MARP (685k). 

On a side note, with practice, it is not that difficult to get the top hammer.  It does not have to be (according to Phil) pixel perfect.

getting so close to the KS and dying is really unfortunate, but you've got so close, its just one more step to finaly get it!
