Does anyone out there know anyone that has a Mappy cocktail cabinet? I am interested in purchasing one. I am willing to do a local pickup within the NYC Metro area.

Greg Bond is the only one I know who has one.  You could probably just convert a Galaga cocktail, they seem to be a dime a dozen.

I'm sure he is not gonna want to part with that. :-P I would ask Richie, but I think if he did have one, it might be out of my price range. I see a Mappy PCB board on eBay for $149.00. Is that reasonable price?

1.  Buy working/unrestored Galaga Cocktail for $300-$400
2.  Trade Galaga PCB for Mappy PCB + Cash
3.  Swap Mappy PCB into former Galaga Cocktail
4.  Profit

If you want a legit Mappy coctail thats going to be a tall order. You can buy the midways cabs like Steve suggested and convert it though pretty easy. If you want to make good use of the space and dont mind not having originals pcbs you can get the arcadeSD board and put it in, its a pretty nice board and works well in the coctail configuration.

$150 for a working Mappy board is reasonable, they are only going UP in price.

Speaking of which, can one buy a JAMMA board to use with my DK Cab? Or is that what the ArcadeSD board is? That would be way cheaper than having all those cabs.

The ArcadeSD board is a JAMMA board and Mike's Arcade I'm sure sells Nintendo to JAMMA adapters.

Nintendo to JAMMA will take some doing.

Mike's Arcade doesn't have it, but Cambridge Arcade does.

However, if your DK wiring doesn't have an edge connector, but rather the old-style wiring with the little individual connectors (most DKs are that way) you will first need to get an edge connector adapter, since the edge connector is what plugs into the Nintendo-to-JAMMA.

I have not actually used this setup,  nor have I heard of anyone using it, and honestly I'm skeptical about the Cambridge Nintendo-to-JAMMA. Running a JAMMA board in a Nintendo cabinet, without the hacking that is generally done to accomplish that, just sounds too good to be true. One of these days I'm going to get around to it and be the guinea pig though.

One of my cabs has the edge connector set up. So maybe all I need is the nintendo to jamma adopter and the pcb?

Though from looking at the Jamma converter, how would that even fit into anything? how would that work?

You plug the Nintendo cab edge connector onto the top, then plug the bottom into the JAMMA board.

What I'm skeptical about, mainly, is the Nintendo power supply getting appropriate power to the JAMMA board.

I think you should just go ahead and get it and let me know how it works...

There may need to be much more work involved. Though I am not really sure I even understand what I am reading... as usual. Something about a "Switch Mode transformer for power"?

If you are putting a 60-1 you can use a computer power supply to power it with the molex connector.
Just make sure to disconnect your harness from the standard power supply.
Either way think about what your doing or you will end up with a complete shit fight like the inside of my cab,
You have to remember most jamma original pcb run the power to a different spot to the xx-1 boards.

I believe the arcade as can be molex powered too.

I'm going to  put a new jamma harness in then wire up some jamma fingerboards for anything else to go in it. And work out a switch system to change which pins the power goes to,
