The first of 3 featured league tournaments for the 2020 Jumpman Points Race, Survivor Series is a 3 round elimination Donkey Kong event to determine who will be this year's Sole Survivor! Outlast the field of competitors and advance your way to over $500 in cash prizes!

Prize Pool

1st: $300 USD + (1) KL Gold Tier Subscription
2nd: $125 USD + (1) KL Silver Tier Subscription

Scoring Format

Round 1 (07.01.20-07.14.20): Open scoring with projected cut line (Bottom 50%). All players falling below the red line at the hard cut on 07.14.20 at 11:59pm UTC will freeze out and their finishing position locked.

Round 2 (07.15.20-07.21.20): Round 1 scores carry over and the remaining field tries to qualify for the Surviving Seven with a second hard cut on 07.21.20 at 11:59pm UTC

Round 3 (07.22.20-07.31.20): The Surviving Seven - Scores reset to zero and the remaining 7 players compete in open scoring for 5 days from 12:00am UTC 07.22 until 11:59pm UTC 07.26 before the first of 6 single eliminations. Each cut will occur every 24 hours thereafter until a winner is crowned.

Tournament Submissions Rules

(1)  MAME Submissions

All WolfMAME versions 106 and higher are acceptable (the preferred method).  The INP file is required, needs to be enclosed in a zip archive and should contain only one recorded game. If using WolfMAME 0.106, please include the WLF file in the zip archive as well.

Other MAME versions are acceptable, but MUST include a link to a publicly available video in addition to the INP zip file.  The video should capture the entire process: starting MAME, adding credits, the complete gameplay, the inital entry screen (or high score table), and the "Nintendo of America Inc." title screen.

(2)  Arcade Submissions

Arcade submissions must provide a continuous, uninterrupted video.  The video should capture the entire process: adding credits, the complete game-play, the initial entry screen (or high score table), and the "Nintendo of America Inc." title screen. Players must show proof of the date and time in their video.

Upon completion of the game, the player is encouraged to show the underside of the control panel, demonstrating the use of 4-way controls.

(3)  Other Information

3a.  INP Playback

We will make every attempt to playback and verify your score.

Problematic INP files that desync or result in incorrect scores will be removed.

3b.  24 Hour Fair Play Rule

All scores should be submitted no later than 24 hours from the timestamp at which they were achieved.

Any score submitted beyond the 24-hour time limit will be removed. If it cannot be determined that a score was submitted within 24 hours, it will be removed.

We are at the end of the first week in the Survivor Series, halfway to the end of the first round, and what a week it has been! Five players have already managed 1 million point games and two have managed 1.1 million. Serphintizer is sitting in first place with 1,189,700 and rayfinkel is a close second with 1,105,500. So far 49 players have submitted scores and the cut line is hovering close to 650k. The overall level of play has been amazing throughout the field and quite a few players have posted kill screens.  On July 14th at 11:59pm UTC the field will be cut in half with the top half advancing to the second round. If you are not in the top half now you still have almost a full week to improve your scores... so get out there and get gaming!

We are down to the final day of scoring for round 1 in the Survivor Series tournament. As of this posting it appears the cut line will be somewhere around 720k - 750k but this can change at any time. Do not give up and keep grinding to get those submissions in!

If you haven't registered and you would like to play, you have until Tuesday July 14th at 11:59pm UTC time to submit a score. This is a HARD  CUTOFF!

Remember, no matter your skill level, there are other awards to compete for in our Jumpman's Point Race including Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player. These Jumpman's Point Race contests are for players of all skill levels in the Donkey Kong community.

Survivor Series, the first of three featured events, kicked off the 2020 Jumpman Points Race and players didn?t waste any time putting up premium scores. The tournament drew an initial field of 57 competitors with several distinguished current and former world record holders competing.

SithOfSpades got things started early with a live Kill Screen of 925,600 on the very first night of the event. Serphintizer put up an early round 1 score that put him squarely in the lead. Players scored early and often, driving the cut line up to an astonishing 704,000 for round 2! Lakeman421 got in just before the round 2 cut and filled out the field of seven advancing to round 3.

Lakeman421 was able to put up an amazing game throwing down a score of 1,248,100, one of two 1.2 million point games he was able to produce in the final round that just blew away the rest of the field. Coming in second was Serphintizer, who put up another excellent score with 1,179,600. Finishing in third was WFLIMusic with 1,159,400. Rounding out the Surviving Seven in order were Barra, KIG666, up2ng, and rayfinkel.

Please join Kong League congratulating Lakeman421, our first ever Sole Survivor! May he always be recognized as the first player in history to hold the World Record and Sole Survivor titles concurrently!

The Donkey Kong Online Open gets underway on 8/20/2020 to serve as the second leg in the Jumpman Points Race and is open to all competitors.
