Yep, another extremely weird post by me, the king of extremely weird posts.
What got me to make this post is simple.  The Nathan's Hot Dog eating championship in Coney Island.
The hot dog eating championship is the premier eating competition for competitive eaters.
Think about that for a moment.  We are talking about hot dogs.  America's cheapest made meal.  The meth head in a run down apartment lives off that stuff.
Even for cheap food it's a poor choice.  Pizza, burritos, and hamburgers would be a better choice for a premier competition.  In fact it would be a good choice for worst possible food for a premier competition.
Say what you want about Donkey Kong, at least it's a game with nuance, difficulty, and put Nintendo on the map.
If video games did what competitive eating did, they would have made E.T. from the Atari 2600 the premier competition for classic gaming.
