needing help! Donkey Kong Junior No Sound

Needing help guys !   I powered up my Donkey Kong Junior machine yesterday .  There was no sound at all .

The last thing I can remember doing is removing the pcb and taking out the high score save kit .

Did I miss some thing that would make the sound go away? Did I mess something up?

What should I check?

Have you checked all of the wires running from the board to the monitor? Sometimes those little connections can be fickle. I suggest unplugging and plugging back in the wire that runs from your PCB to your amplifier (on both ends, PCB and amplifier). Also check the wires running to the speaker from the amp. Lastly, I'm not sure if this would affect it or not, but ensure that your Z80 was seated properly when you removed your High Score Save Kit and put your Z80 back in. I'm far from an expert and you probably already know a lot of this stuff, but that's where I would start. Surely someone more seasoned in this stuff will be able to help further.

I have thought of all that stuff ..  I have not checked inside the machine yet ..

Assuming you didn't do anything out of the ordinary, definitely check the connections going to the amp on the monitor board.  Its possible that something got loose when you were changing everything out.  Most of these types of issues come down to a user-error of sorts.  After you confirm or rule out that this is the issue, you can proceed from there.

It's probably amp or cable related.

There are two different types of sounds, the analog sounds and digital sounds.  It's unlikely both of them stopped working at the same time.   Even if the sound CPU were dead, it would still go 'boing' on powerup and make walk/jump sounds during gameplay.

Is there a way I plugged the audio wire in backwards ?
