I can only verify for the 2nd level elevator stage but I accidentally walked off of the elevator going up to grab the top left prize and I landed right on that platform without dieing. I thought this was a fluke but tried it again and sure enough I lived again! Is this common knowledge and am I just picking up on this? Lol. I posted it on my twitch in case anyone wants to see what I'm talking about exactly

I wouldn't say it's common knowledge...usually something people discover by accident.  You can do it on any elevator level.

I do this frequently, but never on purpose. I'm sure it's because I suck. I press the jump button too late, walk off the elevator and just keep going.

I just mentioned that in the Kencade stream the other night.

I saw Ross do it and said "wht da..."

Then I tried it in MAME and it jogged my memory that I'd actually discovered it a couple years ago but had forgotten because the knowledge is useless.

Haha. I just did it a like 10 times to make sure it wasn't luck. Ive played this game forever and just now realized that you could just walk off. Not that I'll be doing this intentionally anymore. but good to know if I got a late jump to avoid a fireball and don't wanna jump and hit my head on the top which usually doesn't happen anyways. The more you know.

Have noticed this a few times myself. Just tried on my elevator save state (level 5) and it only occurs for me between certain heights. ie. the elevator is completely above the platform but not too high.

Will stick to jumping.

I've known that "trick" for a long time, and if you want to play DK with SWAG, you have to walk-off the moving elevator on each elevator level ;-).
