Leeching the elevator fireball.

Ok, this question is for all you guys who know how to get maximum points. When the fireball is down, I successfully leech points off the spring as it goes by. However, when the fireball is up and I am leeching it, I never get credit for a spring that goes by where it would give me points if the fireball was down. Can anyone explain this to me?

You can only leech one thing at a time on any non-barrel level. Are you expecting 300?

I was definitely wondering why I never got 300. That is an interesting fact. I've never seen anything about that before.  Thank you.
