OK, I'll be honest, since I started in this hobby, and found out about the IVGHOF I actually wanted it as a goal to be good enough to make it into the Hall of Fame.
Here's the problem, after seeing how players like Donald Hayes, and Dwayne Richard have been kept out it ruins my wanting to be enshrined in a place like that because it seems biased in my opinion.
So given that, I'd like to know from the community what qualifications one should have for your personal Hall of Fame?
By getting enough answers I'll get a better understanding of what makes a Hall of Fame CAG/MAME player.
To be honest, the fact I've been in the scene for eight years is not long enough. So that right there eliminates me from consideration. I have a twenty year plan to be on that level. So what things do I need to do?
So far my biggest downfall is never reaching the top 15 in a major tournament. I have been more of a specialist player. In fact, if you were to take away my top five arcade/MAME games nothing really special sticks out.
So yeah give me your qualifications. For me, I need to be more rounded, and I simply need more time in the hobby.
