Hello everyone!
I am in discussions with Richie and so far this is what is planned for the event format at the Kong Off 4:
- 22 Donkey Kong machines in total (this is what Richie is targeting)
- 1 dedicated machine for Billy Mitchell
- 1 dedicated machine for Steve Wiebe
- 10 machines for the top 10 players (MAME plus arcade scores), each player gets a dedicated machine
- 10 machines for the wildcard players: 6 dedicated to the top 6 players from the 2014 DKOOs, and 4 machines kept open for anyone else who wants to play
- Friday and Saturday: High score grind event just like the previous Kong Offs (players are ranked by their highest score from these 2 days combined), 1st place gets paid
- Sunday: Bracket event for the top 16 players from the high score event
- #1 plays #16, #2 plays #15, etc
- 1 coin drop per player, no restarts (each pair of players play one game head to head and that is it), winner advances to the next bracket
- pays 1st and 2nd place
Current list of the top 10 players (MAME plus arcade):
1. Dean Saglio: 1,206,800
2. Robbie Lakeman: 1,144,800
3. Hank Chien: 1,138,600
4. Ross Benziger: 1,136,500
5. Vince Lemay: 1,135,900
6. Wes Copeland: 1,121,600
7. Jeff Willms: 1,107,600
8. Jeff Wolfe: 1,103,700
9. Steve Wiltshire: 1,100,700
10. Mike Groesbeck: 1,076,000 (Mark, Dave and Phil are not going)
We are currently waiting on Ross to confirm that he is going, but so far everyone else is in (Ethan Daniels would be next in line if Ross can't make it).
NOTE: Richie has the right to correct/change anything I have stated above
