Make a thread about this since there were a few interested..
Will take my family to NYC 30 May - 8 June. A visit to Barcade is a must. Have mentioned this earlier here and a couple of guys were interested in meeting me. I will also take my DK marquee with me so Hank Chien could sign it. If he is available?
My primary mission with the trip is NOT arcade games but a couple of hours would be nice. I guess I'm available for Barcade, 2 June - 7 June.
What about you? Looking forward to meet you and speak crappy English!! :)

I'm going to Funspot that weekend, but I should be available any other time that week. Wednesdays usually work best for me.

Don't worry. Everybody in the arcade community got used to hearing crappy english by listening to me <Allen>

Hey Vincent,
Just because I nod my head every few seconds while you're speaking doesn't mean I'm actually listening.
In reality, I'm just waiting until it's my turn to talk again. ;)
EDIT: Have you made a final decision regarding Funspot this year?
-
Wednesday it is then! Approx time?
Xermon; Yeah, I've heard.. 8) No, actually. You have a very different accent but you speak much better English than I do. Last time was London '91.

Lol Stella.

The one in Brooklyn opens at 4pm on weekdays. I can be there 6pm or so. They are also opening one in Manhattan... it should be any day now... hopefully before you visit.
The DK in Brooklyn is probably the worst of the Barcades (ironically). It's a DDK board and the last time I checked the joystick was very stiff.
Have you made a final decision regarding Funspot this year?
Vincent backed out of FS.
l traveled 300 miles to give myself a chance to get the world record and be in Guinness. l hope he can, at least, come 300 miles and put his game on the line, so you make the call. <Wiebe>
He's not prepped is the thing. <Sanders>

I may have to bail out as well. An old college friend from L.A. will be visiting Boston next week, and a group of us (all former Lowell House residents) are planning to get together.
I suspect <Tim> would not approve.
My friend's credentials: Ivy League, West Coast, Yuppie Punk, Attorney.
Talk about lumping all of the despised groups into one package . . .

Ok. In NYC. So which one Hank? Brooklyn or Manhattan? Manhattan opens tuesday 3?
Please let me know. I'm sooo looking forward for this.
-
Yeah, I hear their official opening is Tuesday. The Manhattan one is bigger and nicer (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h1ltEVz2hM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h1ltEVz2hM)). The Brooklyn one is the original and feels like home. I can do either... whichever is more convenient for you. There is an iOS app which tells you the game lineup at each location.
-
The Brooklyn one seems to be the best choice for me. 6 pm then ca?
Great!

Ok. So I met one of my heroes. Nice meeting you Hank. Unfortunately I made a huge mistake bringing my son = no entry for him due to 21 years old limit. Damn!
Extremely short meeting.
I spoke extremely bad English as expected and I didn't really know what to.say.. So if you all pardon me forgetting to say the word "better" at 00:12 you're welcome.. ;)
