I thought it might be cool to track people's like/dislike of the new TG site. I know there is a similar poll on TG currently, but I thought that it'd maybe help out anyone involved in the TG site that might be on DKF to get a feel of how they're doing by having a go-to thread on DKF where they could see our (DKF's) general, running opinion. With this in mind, feel free to post any ideas comments you have for improving the site below.
You can change your vote at any time, so if your opinion changes in the future, be sure to update it here.

First impressions count, and it should be obvious this site was rushed.
This new site layout is infinitely better than the last, even though I think the front page is a lot louder.
The auto-play Twitch stream is a UX nightmare. Jace telling everyone who doesn't like it to pause the stream on every new page open is a non-solution. Multi-tabbing through TG gets really old really fast, and without using adblock there is no remedy to this. It was a poor idea to think that launching a public forum without any moderation besides Jace would work out well, as I personally had racial slurs thrown at me and was told to get AIDS and die. Even though the database is janky, their back-end engineer couldn't even sort it by score, and it's instead sorted by date. I assume it's SQL -- has anyone ever heard of the ORDER BY command? This should be the most trivial fix ever, yet things launching like this do not instill much confidence.
I don't think it's a stretch to say the primary focus of TG should be the classic scores database. Not their stream. Not their LoL team (whtda). Not their events calendar. Not their lens on modern gaming. At the end of the day the scores database is all anyone cares about, and they launched the new site with it being non-functional.

iv had a look, its pretty cool that the old forum is back, gotta give credit for that... i only really care for a basic forum and decent scoreboard, not bothered about other details so i think the site will be just fine when its finished...
i dont like having to log in to view the scoreboard. also Jace says people using adblock will have to disable it to access TG, i doubt i would be on there much anyway, but that means im not likely to become a regular visitor...

I agree that it is annyoing that you have to log in everytime if you want to see the scoreboard. My complaint is that some of the records that were set during the Knucklez/Adler ownership are not on the new site. Will these records be added or do they no longer count?

I think they're gone.

The Donkey Kong leaderboards on TG is total bullshit. First of all, the ranking has missing numbers. Second of all, there are a bunch of scores not there (I mean wtf, Steve is technically in 2nd on the scoreboard? He's out of top 10 on a real scoreboard).
And third of all, Hank Chien's 1,138,600 was done at home, and not done in front of a referee (that's obviously not a big deal, but still a mistake).
It's kindda weird that scores done from the past 2 years are missing. I mean, people are supposed to visit the Donkey Kong scoreboard to have an accurate view at the ranking. When normal people will see the scoreboard, they will think:"Oh nice Steve Wiebe is still in 2nd place!" but in fact he's not even top 10.
And yeah, I'm kindda dissapointed my score isn't even listed (same as Ross, Jeff Willms, Jeff Wolfe, Dave, Steve Wiltshire, Robbie, Dean, etc).
So, for me, DonkeyKongForum is the only real deal when it comes to Donkey Kong. <Allen>

Yeah, first thing I noticed was the jacked up DK scores. When I get around to submitting scores, I'm not going to bother with TG.

Any score under Jourdan's era seems to have gotten lost (from ~KO2 to now). Hopefully there will be a way to save those scores. Give them time. It's only been one month. Seems like the database was restored from a copy from around the end of Bouvier's/beginning of Jourdan's era.

I'm of the opinion that having the forums back is such a breath of fresh air that I'm willing to give them a lot of slack to get the rest of the site together. Sure, the trolls came out full force and some things are annoying for now, but those will be fixed in time. I think that, in general, getting the forums up more quickly relieved a lot more angst than it caused in a lack of quality in some areas. Besides, It might turn out to be a good idea to have set up the site with the opportunity for people to suggest ways to improve and form it rather than betting it all on a more developed one. No sense wasting effort if it's possible it'll just be unliked anyway.

while i do think we should cut them some slack and be patient, which most of us are willing to do, the site in its current state is below average. i also think there should be a post on the front page explaining why some(all?) of the paid submissions/scores achieved under the previous owners were either left out, not received, or simply deleted. i do have confidence that they will straighten everything up in the near future tho. also million point march is back Kreygasm (lol@ banned rossyyyyyyy) guest love it

I have the "namescrubbed" database, and even that has all the scores up through September 2013.
If I can get my hands on that (without even trying), how is it possible that TG itself can't?
And, while I don't have it, I know that a non-scrubbed version exists. Maybe whoever has that should send it to them?
