... then somebody needs to bring an EPROM reader to KO3!
I've heard that the 1up has one, but I don't know if Exidy wants to be bugged about this.
Also, does any retail store actually sell blank 2764 EPROM chips so that I could bring some to burn with the regular version while I'm there?
It's only two chips that have the P-kit code, 5B and 5C, so I just need to swap those two with the 5B and 5C that have the regular code. I'm guessing no store would carry 2764 EPROM? I can take care of that later though, I mostly just want to get the hard version dumped.
(PS, I just took them out of the board without screwing up the pins and packed them in a plastic container with foam cushion, so far so good...)
------------------------------------------------
Filename Label Type Loc/PCB CSum
----------- -------------- ------ ------- ---- --
empty --------- ---- 5A(CPU) ----

2764.5Cp DJR1-C-5C p 2764 5C(CPU) F4FE

I have some blacnk 2764s, i'll veryify that is what they are and i'll bring a few. I'm quite sure Jon will be able to get these burned while we are there.

Ken is a hero.

very cool. i hope these roms will be available in mame someday. is there any video of this rom set anywhere ?
-
I streamed a bunch of it at one point, but all the footage is local (not online anymore).
Ken has these ROMs now (it's only two chips out of the set that contain modified code) so when I get them the first thing I'm gonna do is submit to the MAME team.
However, they'll be ready to use right away, before the official release, because (thankfully) neither DK or Junior test the ROMs for a proper checksum or refuse to run if it's off. MAME will warn you that the checksum is bad, but the game will run. You'll just have to swap out the two files in dkongjr.zip and go.

I'm new here, came across this site trying to look up info on Donkey Kong "Hard" Eproms. I just dumped a set that don't match anything on the romident site.
-
Are you talking about Donkey Kong or Donkey Dong JR roms? I have both of the 'hard set' roms, if you post the checksums I can check it against the ones I have.
