Less than a month after breaking his own world record, Dean has done it again, surpassing his long time goal of 1.2 million with an amazing score of 1,206,800!

Wooohooo!! big, Big, BIG! I am so psyched about this score, it was a long road getting there. I'm obviously feeling very excited but also just satisfied and somewhat relieved. Wired and tired.

Dean, I've been watching you since around 2010. Just want to say that when you stream DK, it's an event in my house. Me and my boys sit and watch, sometimes biting our nails. You are an inspiration to the DK community, and the classic arcade gaming community as a whole. I've learned a lot from watching you, and it's honestly so freakin awesome to see you meet your long standing goal. Kongratulations, can't wait to see what you do next! (Win the KO3!)

I unfortunately didn't get to see this live. Just logged onto Dean's Twitch stream, and can't find the recording there, just wondering if it will be up and if he played this using "Pauline". I'm sure someone will post all of the stats in due course, but it would be good to watch the full stream with the stats updated as the game was played.
And if you read this Dean, any thoughts on submitting this to TG? Not to be off topic, but I understood (possibly wrongly) that you weren't in favor of the paid submissions like a lot of us.

Wow, very impressive indeed. Although those words don't capture how important this is. This is the breaking of the 4 minute mile for video games. I believe that people will still be playing Donkey Kong one thousand years from now. And people will reference this day as a special moment in Donkey Kong history. Big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big time congrats on this amazing score.

Wow, Pretty amazing and finally reaches his goal...sorry I missed it.
What's most amazing is the title of his broadcast was Target Score 1,207,000 and he hits 1,206,800. That's DK control!
Definitely think a new badge is in order.

I'm so hyped for this 1.2m+, man this is incredible. I CAN'T wait to see the score analyze screen by screen. This is without a doubt one of the best/if not the best achievement in arcade gaming history. Tears to my eyes.
Dean, if you don't to KO3, it would be like if Usain Bolt doesn't participate to the next Olympic: So much hype would be lost.
And on your title, it said "1.207m pace", and you only got 1.206.800... I knew you never had the skills to get 1.207m! haha, kidding ;).
After all that time spent to get 1.2m, I'm extremely happy that your dedication and skills finally made it to the top! I think you're the best example of "dedication".

Dean, PLEASE highlight this game, along with the commentary afterward! Otherwise it will all be lost, save for the inp. But just watching the inp isn't the same as hearing the button clicks and the intensity of your howl at the end!

So glad I checked the streams before going to bed and saw from 600k on. Thank you for the best game of DK that may ever be played. If they give out a trophy at the kong offs it had better be called the Dean Saglio. When an invincibility mode is engaged the character can only be called Dean. Way to go !!!!

Congrats Dean, you finally got it after trying for so long. This is really an amazing Donkey Kong score that is really starting to get towards the limit of what is possible.
So what's next? Will you try to improve this score further or just retire and see if someone else can beat it?

Yeah Jeff, I'm not sure what to do right now about playing for higher scores. I was talking about it at the end of my stream, but I think with my current knowledge and skill the upper limit would be somewhere in the 1,230,000 - 1,240,000 range if everything went just right. This score is really pretty close now so from here on out I could see playing through the whole game as hard as I can and actually coming up short of a new high score, which is not very appealing to say the least!

Yeah I added 14000 instead of 4000. I also counted the last death as 1000 points (with 0 for the lvl 22-1 just like Scott noted. Made more sense.) Scott has it all laid out too. I went with "real" numbers and he did it with the DK'ness! Didn't realize he would get to it so fast when I did mine!:D

Wow looking at this he got a 16,000 Barrel stage! (But that lvl was "only" 61,600). Look at this lvl 7 scoring!

Watching Dean get the 1.2 million gave me the same satisfaction as if I had just got a PB or completed a new game.
