We have been celebrating In-Game Pro Moments. Let's give some bonehead plays some attention. I'll start.

what the hell?! i didnt even know that was a thing. a fair start to what i can only assume will be a fun topic

I had always wondered if you could get hit by the barrel mid jump after the barrel bounces up. I was spacing out and jumped a little late and was surprised that it was possible.
-
That was a surprise. I was expecting the "head bang" maneuver against the up elevator.
-
Yeah I thought about that one since it was during a big game. But others have also done it and this one is more original and unique.
-
I've done this before during serious games. You jump that first barrel so often that you take it for granted and space out during the first few seconds of the board. Perhaps we need a bonehead badge for everyone who's done this hahaha.

Here are a few suggestions for DKF Bonehead Badges:

Whoops! Here's one more. It's so obvious, I missed it the first time.

Yep i died on that stupid first barrel just like that too. I got outta sync and when I ran I jumped a touch late just like that and BOOM. :/
So annoying :)

Here's a Level 4-5 rivet death that qualifies as a bonehead moment, from Sunday's DKO #3 action.
What could I have possibly been thinking? If you have a theory, clue me in. I'm completely baffled.
As usual, I've created 2 versions (neither one is "safe for work").
Version #1
DK Bonehead Rivet Death (1 of 2) (https://www.twitch.tv/stella_blue/v/48706278)
Version #2
DK Bonehead Rivet Death (2 of 2) (https://www.twitch.tv/stella_blue/v/48706251)

Oh man, I died of laughter! I was literally thinking "Oh... ok... some kinda risky/bad stuff in here, but not terrible... still survivable... definitely not as bad as the average Staal rivet board attemp- OMG! WHY DID HE DO THAT!? BUAHAHA! THAT WAS A TOTAL STAAL MOVE! LOL!" ROFL
I'm sorry to rub it in, Scott, but this vid did bring a smile to my face. You're free to rub your higher PB in my face, if you so fancy. ;D

It was hard to watch the screen through the tears in my eyes from the actual audio content. Thanks, Scott!

Ive actually done this on MAME before on the top girder. Since the controls are opposite for me on MAME I hit the jump button thinking i was using the directional

My pleasure. Selection of suitable audio tracks is half the fun.
The song playing during the original stream was Pink Floyd's "Coming Back To Life".
Such DK irony.

We need to start giving out Darwin awards.
I can think of a plausible explanation for what happened there. You thought you were on the top girder next to Kong. When the fireball climbed up, you attempted to jump to the right over the rivet gap as you would ordinarily do in that situation.

This death was definitely impossible to avoid, I would've done the same thing. Kappa
