Hello all. I have lurked on here for quite some time, and I love it! I wanted to save my first post for something special, so here we go.
I grew up in the 80s and I am a huge DK fan. I used to pump my allowance into a DK Cocktail machine when I was a kid, and I always thought, one day when I have money, I am going to buy this sucker! Well, that day has come and then some.
I am no killscreener, but I can get 100k almost every game. Please watch my video and let me know what you think of my home DK collection!

Awesome collection. It's pretty neat to have almost all variations of the DK machines. Of course you could still use an original RED and an original Blue.
About the D2K, I wonder how many D2K machines are actually out there? I know you pretty much have to make them yourselves after getting the parts. But, curious how many exist.

Thanks for the kind words all!
LMDAVE: I know that my machine was built somewhat recently, and the plate lists the model as D2K-UP with a Serial Number of 00068. I will have to double check that when I get home, but I know it is below 70.
The real question is, how many cabaret arcade machines were made!
Also, don't give me any ideas about a Red DK! My wife will kill me!

Your collection makes me happy. Tears in my eyes :'(, oh how I would love that cabaret. I noticed the '1981 Nintendo', so that is the original Japanese Romset, isn't it? Thanks for sharing, sir.

From that title screen it could be either a Japanese set (doubtful) or the original US set (a TKG-3-6 board).
Cool!

Really nice man, thanks for sharing! Looks like everything is in really good shape. And yea, that cabaret...I wonder what board is in there since its not US set 1. Cool stuff!
-
Wow! Awesome machines! How long have you been collecting?
-
The Cabaret is an original 4 board set. I will try to grab a picture of it this weekend.
All I know is that you can stand under the ladders, and the barrels roll on by! My scores are always much higher on that machine! Also, it is just plain old easier and forgiving on you. It does follow the US game screens though, barrel - rivet, barrel - elevator - rivet, barrel - elevator - pie - rivet, etc.
My cocktail machine? That thing is possessed! DK is out for blood even on level 2! Wild Barrels and weird patterns, etc. Good luck breaking 100k on that one, especially with the non traditional joystick orientation.

I have collected Nintendo for years. I only recently got bitten by the arcade bug, say one year ago?

Thanks man! I was very lucky to score the Cabaret. I had to hunt for that one for a very long time!

That cabaret is awesome! A dude on KLOV built one a year or so back. I hadn't seen one before or since.
-
Right! This is the only Cabaret I have seen recently other than that guy on KLOV!

Awesome collection, Very very nice. Im jelly

I was thinking of selling the D2K machine, and getting a red original DK in it's place. Thoughts?
