I have started this thread in an attempt to get to know people better on this forum (the most I know at the moment is only people on the leaderboards names!). Since I am going for a milestone in Dk myself, I was wondering what all the better players have done in there time of playing the game?

I think there are certain milestones that probably stick out more than others. Here are more of my memorable milestones.
1) Getting 100,000 points. I actually killed off my men before the level 4 elevator stage to get to the mark because I hadn't passed the elevator stage after a ton of attempts.
2) Getting past the Elevator stage. This actually took me over 60 men to acomplish. I didn't watch other at first, and so that is why it took so long. I remember hitting the elevator stage with 4 men, and knowing the odds were great I was going to lose all 4 men.
3) Getting past Donald Hayes 420,500 score. Since I consider him the greatest all around arcade player of all time it was an honor to get past him.
4) Getting to the halfway point to the killscreen
5) Getting higher than Shawn Cram's 585,700 score. He had the highest score for anyone that was a former champion of Donkey Kong 3. Being the current champion I wanted a higher score.
6) Getting past Rick Fothergill's 685,800 score. He is an all around great gamer, and has done some great things on Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, and Jr. Pac-man. (I wonder how is he related to Mark Fothergill? are they brothers?
7)Getting to the 3/4ths way point to the killscreen
8) Since I just did this: Getting 327,300 on my first man. that is now higher than the 319,200 score that I had for over a year and a half, and so I see that as another milestone I accomplished.

I think to me the biggest milestones are
100k
200k
300k
400k
500k
539,600 allen staals old PB ( he has since increased it, but I think his old PB is a good milestone)
600k
700k
KS
12-2 (halfway)
-------- other quasi milestones would be levels
for instance if the deepest you ever got was lvl 14
I then make lvl 15 a milestone.
---------
If you want me to recall my past milestones that I personally achieved its something like this (in correct order):
1xxK
2xxK
300,300 - done on mame
LVL 10
409K - arcade
428K - arcade
LVL 13
590K - arcade
637K - arcade done during WCR#2
LVL 17
700,700- arcade
LVL 18
LVL 19

Originally it was 200K, 300K, 400K, and then 500K. I was stuck at 500K for a long time but once I beat my personal best of 505K or something like that, the next goal was to beat Brian Kuh and hit 700K. Then it was to beat Scott for his comments by getting a killscreen, and then to beat Ethan. Now I just want to hit one million.
200K
300K
400K
500K
Beat Brian Kuh ;)
Beat Scott and get killscreen :P
Beat Ethan :D
Get one million - still working on it. While encouraging other players to beat me there.

My first game was 12,300 points. First thing I wanted was 20k and jumped up to 50k the next day. I stalled at 70k for a week then 90k area around the elevator screen. Right now my goal is to get to 20-2. You read that right. I have died twice on the same ladder on 20-1 and I just want past that and to get over 800k after that. Hopefully I can have a good game here soon. I had back to back 700k games about a month or so ago but haven't played much since.

Ha! Fortunately, you don't have my comment on a soundboard; otherwise, I'd never live it down. ;)
"Many have tried and failed to take over the highly coveted 17th position on the TG scoreboard."
I'm sure you realize the challenge was issued with tongue surgically attached to cheek (especially the "highly coveted" part).
Any playful taunts (aka "bulletin board material") you'd like to toss my way, before I string together a few killscreens this afternoon? 8)

Hey Joseph, the race to Level 22-1 has tightened up a bit.
On August 18th, during the WCQ #2, I finally managed to improve my high score: 782,900 (ending on L19-1). The game was ineligible for tournament consideration. I registered, but wasn't streaming at the time.
You won't find the score on the HSL yet. If I haven't upped it again by Labor Day, I'll submit it then.
As for the killscreen, we can both do this. It's time to demonstrate a strong kick on the final lap. 8)

For me, the biggest milestone was to beat my 295k highscore back in the day. I struggled so freaking much to beat that. But I learned some few things by watching others play online, and finally beat it with a 400k+ score. Without watching other people streams and steal their strategies (mwahaha!), I would've never reached a kill screen (since I'm a meathead and I can't learn by myself).
And there's obviously nothing better than getting your first kill screen (and also getting your first 1m... when you see the score rerolling, it brings tears to everyone's eyes!).

Wow I was stuck at 294k for over a month, but unfortunately never ended with 400k+ game :(.

Stella it's still on! The more I improve the closer I see you get! I'm at 789,400 and the following game after that I had a 750k game. I seen your new score the other day and started to get back into the groove. Haven't really played much since my life has been flipped upside down with my job.
