I didn't realize this until after I submitted my Donkey Kong score, but I just became the 5th person all time to get a combined 2 million for Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior. I am honored to be among such a great list of names.
1st Mark Kiehl 1,412,200 + 1,052,900 = 2,465,100
2nd Billy Mitchell 1,270,900 + 1,062,800 =2,332,900
3rd Steve Wiebe 1,190,400 + 1,064,500 = 2,254,900
4th Ben Falls 1,010,400 + 1,132,500 = 2,142,900
5th Myself 1,313,800 + 690,500 = 2,004,300
Mike Kasper might also be on the list as well. Not too sure if he got the 651,000 for Donkey Kong or not. I know he did it on the Pualine edition, but not too sure on regular edition.

I have no problems that no one is responding. I just want this on record if Brian Allen claims to be the 5th person to do this later on! ;)
-
Cool George! I dont get to read all the messages as was out all last week but great score. You will get a KS before I do :)
-
Oh, how I hope to make this list someday (soonish)!
I just get too distracted with other games!
Kongrats, George (and others on this list)!
-
Hey, cool list!
I guess I'm at about 1,672,200, at this point.
Maybe I should finish it off. 300-some thousand to go...
And I sure as hell aint gonna get it from papa!
-
I'm getting close to that special feat. My 1,070,200 DK + like 30k JR is just over 1.1, almost there!
-
I played DKJr when I was 6 or 7, and I think I got 19,200, so i'm a little over half way there.
I haven't upped my PB for 9855 days (not taking into account leap years).

What about 2m combined on Thief and NATO Defense?

Jewel Theif for Windows 3.1?

Columns/Tetris and Bejeweled champion.....maybe Jimmy Linderman can do?

It seems that you are implying there is no significance in this achievement. And for you, you are entitled to your opinion. I on the other hand respectfully disagree with your assessment. For you see it does have a lot of significance to me.
This is the reason why. This represents yet another transition for me. For you see in the beginning when I came onto the scene I quickly become known as one the greatest Donkey Kong 3 Arcade/ MAME players of all time. I was however looked upon as a one trick pony. So I decided to try my hand at Donkey Kong Junior. Than I become known as one of the greatest combined Donkey Kong Junior, and Donkey Kong 3 players of all time. After that I became one of the greatest Donkey Kong Junior players of all time. Now I have transitioned almost becoming one of the greatest Donkey Kong + Donkey Kong Junior players of all time.
Still there are certain players out there who still don't see any of what I have done as significant because I still have not killscreened Donkey Kong. I guess in a way I probably should thank you. I know the reason you posted this is because you feel my 690k score really isn't that significant. And in truth you are right, the only reason I can even say I am one of the best DK + DKJr players of all time is mostly because of what I have done in Donkey Kong Junior. In the Donkey Kong community I think a 690k score is thought of as just an average score. Not a bad score, and not a good score, but an average score. If you look at the list there are 122 scores, and I am 62nd once the scores get updated. That lands me almost right smack dab in the middle for those in this community.
So yeah, I can see how in two games how Average Score + Great Score does not make you one of the greatest of all time in those two games. I am going to have to climb up this ladder a tad bit more to where I have a Good Score. And then maybe Good Score + Great Score makes you one of the greatest of all time in those two games.

That is not the reason for my post at all....690k is an excellent DK score and essentially a kill screen level play. I'm more hoping that someone provides Richie with a NATO defense board after seeing my post because my Thief game has been pretty good lately.

Now you've gotten George all rileyed up!

I was just pointing out how much I suck at JR. I never really put much time into that game.

Oh, yeah, no problems. By the way you have dominated Donkey Kong in such a sort period of time I am completely sure that you would do extremely well in DKJr. You probably would killscreen it in a week like Hank Chien did.
-
I possibly would like to get into all DK games. I have put more time into DK3 than I have DKJR probably around 300k on that game, but DK is my main priority at this point.
-
Yeah, me too I really want to get into DK Jr. and DK3. Now that I mastered DK, I would truly enjoy to master those 2 other games. Even if they are a little bit different than DK, it's pretty much the same concept (make as much points as possible on each board, especially on dk jr.). As for DK3, I really enjoy shooter game (as well as platform games), so dk 3 would be a very cool mix of what I enjoy in a game. I'm definitely looking forward to learning these 2 games and hopefully challenge the records on both!

Joke aside, mastering the 3 games is pretty nice, but that's not for me.

Well done George that is a great achievement!
BTW, been playing some DK3 on MAME....awesome!!

Yes Brian, I have checked the numbers and rechecked them again, and after extensive number crunching you appear to be just short of 2 million.

+1 to Ethan, my mate. Best reply to Brian I've seen in a while. ;D

Usually I am against ribbing like this, but let's be honest. EVERYONE has a calculator on their computer. It takes about 30 seconds effort to click on the calculator and add the numbers. In fact I would say Brian spent more time typing out his question than it would have taken him to use his computer calculator.
