He was a basketball...

Yeah I've always thought they accidentally edited out "player" from that statement.
I also think they fed Steve's daughter the Guiness line contrary to the commentary track. You can see her look off in the distance if memory serves.
-
The one line I could never figure out:
Derek is yelling "Wipe my butt"
Wiebe yells back "Derek, I'm going to throw away your ______"
Does anyone know what he says?
-
Hank I have wondered the same thing.
It sounds like he says "rust".
I'm gonna throw away your rust if you don't stop it, Derek!
"Rust" must be referencing a toy, or piece of food, or something.
Maybe someone can ask Steve at the KO3 so we can all put this to rest.
Yea and I agree about the Guiness line the daughter says...because there's no way she would come out and say something like that on her own. They were probably driving a long way, and tried thinking of cute/funny stuff to put into the film...and came up with that. It's actually one of my favorite lines from the movie...and the way Steve looks back with that odd look on his face...funny.

its probably 'rusk', a hard biscuit type thing you give to teething babies...

I always thought he said "Russ", which is a brand of stuffed animal.
-
I always thought it was "Rush" as in the band.
I know Wiebe is a Rush fan. Perhaps throw out his Rush CD?
-
I am going with Russ, as I think that was the name of his stuffed animal. Also he says something to that effect in one of his early moviehouse interviews on Youtube.

It certainly is Rush. Steve has said that his son can also play some Rush on the drums as well.
-
I always thought rush the video game San Francisco rush.
-
But since steves a drummer as well as a ball, it does make since that he'd love Rush for Neil Peart.
