Title: Mini TKG4 cabinet
Post by: JAM on November 03, 2018, 12:06:51 pm
I figured if anybody would appreciate my new toy, it'd be you guys.

It will fit any two board set.  Right now there's a DDK in it.  Original DK joystick, and a nice NOS K7000 13" CRT.

You can rent them in San Fran, or play it at Free Gold Watch arcade there.  https://www.smallchangearcade.com/

This one's going in my office building where I work (Vegas).

Ignore our talking, we're just talking about random unrelated stuff...

Very high-quality work. I especially like the view of the PCB through the top.

It reminds me of those new Arcade1up machines, only with far more authenticity.

I saw those cheap cabs in a Walmart advertisement.  Pretty cool.  I might get one for my kids since they don't care about CRT responsiveness or that scanlined look.  It would be cool to hack them and make them JAMMA.  They get mixed reviews on the web though.

I see that you rent these, but do you sell them by any chance? Can I "visit" them?

I'm in the region (Santa Cruz, but in SF quite often), and I'd love to come see these in person.

Hi, it's not my company.  I went to high school with the guy in SF who builds them.  But yeah, you can check them out at the arcade or in his shop.

I wish I knew how to build cabinets.  I'm getting pretty good at PCB and monitor repair though.  I'm currently sitting here fixing my Neo Geo PCB.  The sound crapped out.

Oh ok, so you bought this one from him.

Cool.

If he did a mini multi-Williams cab I'd be painfully tempted!

That's pretty awesome! Are those red girders that hold the PCB?

Yeah, they are.  He 3D printed them.
