Apparently Crazy Kong Jr. is a real game, so I put that on there. I didn't know if 'Krazy Kong' was a real game too, though... :/ Lemme know if I missed versions, so I can add them to the poll. Thanks!
Edit: Does the 'Foundry' version of DK merit its own place on the list?
-
Unfortunatly you're only allowed to choose one game.
I really like Crazy Kong, because its pretty similar but also completely different, if you know what i mean.
Big Kong & CK Jr, these are games i never played before, but maybe i should keep an eye out for them ;)

Big Kong is ridiculous!: Game Play of My Donkey Kong Bootleg "Big Kong" AKA "Galaxian Kong" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlURS0UUKqA#)
-
The barrel board is insane :D
But definitly worth to try out, i guess
-
Never heard of this version, pretty cool. I could see the springs getting pretty tough if more springs come out in later stages. Also the barrel board is kinda ridiculous with the super long ladders. Cool!
-
The version of Donkey Kong included in Donkey Kong 64 was based on the Japanese version.
-
Gotta go with the OG!
-
This is actually harder than I thought.
I really like DK Japan, and prefer it in some ways, in that you only have to play each stage once per level (which makes more sense), and barrels is not my favorite stage. On the other hand, it's kinda too easy.
And DK Japan is the far superior game for no-hammer runs, as far as I'm concerned. Way more well-suited to that task than the US version, where you have eleventy billion barrel boards that are basically just in the way and add unlucky ways to die. Japan trims the fat and gets right to the point, which is of course conveyors and rivets.
So I don't know!
I might pick Big Kong though just to be an asshole.

Gotta go with the original.
Hmmm, I wonder who picked DK3? :P

Yep, that would be me. 8) Not only my favorite Kong game, but my favorite arcade game of all time! In my opinion I simply don't like Donkey Kong as much as I like DK Jr. or DK3. I just like games where I feel that I am in more control. I do admit the nuances to Donkey Kong are simply amazing, and a work of art, but the lack of control is too important for me. Maybe as I gradually get better at the game, and I do gain more, and more control my feelings will change, but at the moment there is no way I can say it is anywhere near my favorite.
One final note. I am really surprised at the lack of love for D2K. You would think the game being ramped up on hardness would snag a couple of votes.
P.S.
-
Well, I like ALL of these games, D2K being near the top, but if you only have a blue ribbon to give your options are limited!
Having everyone individually rank the games from top to bottom, and then averaging out the rankings everybody gives, would be a more accurate depiction of how much love each game gets.
-
Yeah, I considered giving everyone 3 votes, and then giving 2 to their first place and 1 to their second place, but I figured things might get messy. Should I change it and see how it goes?
-
Donkey Kong for me as I've only played DK and Crazy Kong.
Big Kong looks mental :o
-
Added Brazilian Kong to the list! Reevaluate your vote now!
-
I think I need to reset the poll in order to allow people to revote, since it appears the poll has expired. Here is a picture of what the un-restarted poll was at when I changed it:
EDIT: Yep, reseting the poll worked! Revote now!

Crazy Kong Junior? If you are referring to "Crazy Junior", I don't think it's been emulated yet, but I heard there have been some rom dumps in the last year. Is there some way to play this in emulation that I'm not aware of, or a video of the gameplay? I have been curious to see what, if any, changes have been made.
-
I'm not exactly sure, Mark. Someone mentioned it a while ago, and so I added it to the list.
Anyone can let me know if I am forgetting to list other Kong versions. Should there be separate tracks for the like 3 (?) CK variations?
EDIT: I added Monkey Donkey... that's a version, right?
-
wht da ck all day
-
Donkey Kong will always be my least favorite of the 3 Donkey Kongs, though I admire the nuances of the game.
-
I went with Crazy Kong. I think the game is a fun more playable version of the game. I also enjoy the point pressing on the barrel stages as you can group the barrels in a unigue way. The sounds also crack me up.
-
I chose the original. Haven't played any other version. 99.83% sure I never will.

That's too bad, you're missing out on a lot of fun because of your prejudice.

I voted for Crazy Kong, then started a sockpuppet account just to vote for Crazy Kong again.
