Title: Pie Factory Support Group
Post by: ChrisP on March 16, 2013, 06:31:40 pm
Hi, my name is Chris and the pie factory touches me inappropriately every night.

(I can't take much more of this!)

When I die on the rivets, even when it's a semi-screwing, I can usually say "I could have done 'x'," or "if I had paid more attention, I would have tried to weave instead," or whatever.

I always feel more helpless on conveyors. When they shoot out of the oil can as if they're racing each other to the bottom, a lot of the time there is literally nothing you can do! You're just gonna die, and that's it. It feels more unfair than anything else in the game.

For this longest time I didn't worry about the PF screens at all.  During the wildcard rematch 2, they screwed me hard all day.  Now I fear them.  How can we cope with this?  Is there anything we can do?

If one pie factory death per game is considered average, then I suppose I have average luck with that particular stage.  However, I would very much like to join the support group, if free doughnuts are provided.  Glazed blueberry are my favorite, for whoever might be hosting the meetings.

EDIT:  My doughnut preference should not be confused with the blueberry filled variety.  Completely different animal.

After working for a long time for a decent start, pie factory 5-2 always seems to want to abuse me in the worst of ways... I am going insane, this particular pie factory is giving me PTSD.

I hear ya.  Don't go insane.  Don't let the machine win.  You will win in the end.

I tend to have 2 out of 4 of my deaths happen on PFs during a serious game. However, I have noticed that practicing jumping fireballs doing the Bottom Girder Challenge has helped quite a bit for the situations when you really have no chance to bypass fireballs that immediately descend to the bottom to surround you. I got 494k while at Tim McVey's hows this last weekend (after being at 380k on my second man  :-\ ), and in it I had probably the worst PF screwings of my life, but I survived a few of them by making use of a few well-timed fireball jumps. But, yeah... trying to find a quick opening to scuttle past the 'crowders' on the bottom conveyor is much more preferable.
