Before anyone says. And how would anyone pay for an announcer? I am not talking about getting pros, but actually getting people from the community to announce a classic gaming competition on stream.
The reason I suggest this is seeing how modern competitive gaming took off as a rocket as a viewable form of entertainment once announcers were added.
We already have gamers who would make great announcers. Two that come to mind are Mike Kasper, and Captain Jive pants.
I have seen members joke around about doing this, but I really think it could really help classic gaming as a whole.

I'd be glad to announce any upcoming events on my stream. I'm pretty sure both of my viewers would be stoked. Kappa

Come to GGA. We'll announce for you. It's always more fun for everybody when there is someone filling in the chat, commenting, etc.
How do you think we could get that to work well with the lag from Twitch when we aren't in person? Skype voice and video could be live, but video out to Skype and Twitch might be tough on a lot of streaming machines, not to mention bandwidth. Somebody do a something search and figure out how we can make it work for IGBY.

If anyone saw the fellow Donkey Kong players comment on this tourney, they would realize that yes indeed commenting does help a lot.
We had more than a few step up to the plate to announce the Kong Off, and to me all of them did great jobs. Wiebe, Lemay, Copeland, Wiltshire, Elliot, and others did a wonderful job. To me I found the Kong Off much more entertaining with them.
