ok so after deciding against a jamma upgrade the next thing I wanted to do was replace the power supply center with a new switching psu. I was going to build something like this: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/accenter.html (http://www.therealbobroberts.net/accenter.html) and add the Nintendo Iso I have. the original power supply is shot and doesn't work. the people over at klov seem to be adamantly against me building a drop in ac center. what is you're opinion? also why would a Nintendo board not "like" a switching power supply. its all good as long as it gets the same voltage right? I mean power is power isn't it?

the Nintendo games that use -5V I believe I read on KLOV once that they had a ton of ECL logic chips that could potentially cause some issues, most likely you'd be fine I would think though. Aside from being gnawed at on KLOV for using a switcher instead of the Nintendo supply...and TG might not recognize your WR Kappa

why the heck would having a different power supply affect how tg validates a record? its not like I can program some cheat to run off the PSU lol

Be warned, this is far more difficult to follow than a wiring diagram

It's a standard switcher that comes with a small pcb. The original loom plugs directly into the pcb, no need to hack the original loom etc. Just set your +5 up and a kill screen could be on!!?
