How are you tracking Marp when it's broken ? No one is ever going to beat those scores there until it's fixed

???

All of the highest DK3 scores ever are currently represented on DKF and TG. And all past TG and MARP scores can easily be determined.

Logged in for the first time in weeks and weeks - late to the party here, but look at all the DK3 scores!  <gasp> Well done everyone!

Special congrats to Finkaaayyyyy for putting up a HUGE 5-man D4 score - NWR sweeeeeeet!  Kreygasm BBB...never a doubt he'd be a WR challenger if he dedicated the necessary time to the game. Now we need to get this guy turned on to more than just DK games to see what else he can do - Blue Print WR attempts, go!

DK3 sizzlin' once again...keep going everyone!

I've been playing a bit of T&F and Hyper Sports. I got some recent competitors on the online leaderboards with the Rearranged kit. They chimed in on some of my YT vids. One of the guys said Sal is very competitive. Boy, THAT was and understatement. Sal is a machine! He's a beast! He's like the Michael Myers of games. He just won't stop. I play about a game or 2 a day just to hope for a good score and he plays 20+!! He sees my PB for one loop of Rearranged and he beats it right away. He then ups it soon after. I'm not much for the 1 loop thing. I like multiple loops.  So I already had the top spot for multi loop and upped it. I thought it was safe. He beats it. So I'm busy trying to take it back and he puts up 483k on Hyper Sports! That's big! It took me a few tries, but I got 489k.

He also found my 1 loop HS WR at CAGDC. 157k. He gets 173k. Different settings, but settings don't change much. You can do simple math to determine what the score woulda/coulda been on the other settings. His score is better.

I now got 185k. Let's see how long this lasts. Same with my 489k.

There's more good stuff. I got new Weightlifting PBs and Swimming PBs. I'll post those later.

For now I need to focus on taking back the Rearranged top score.

I'm perfectly fine with whatever.  8)
Having said, that. An idea.  How about an undisputed badge.
Given to the person holding records in all 8 tracks.
With Justin Elliott holding the five man difficulty 4 record it's obvious that it's extremely hard to pull that off nowadays

Donkey Kong 3 / DK3 - World Records and Badges

After many discussions with ersatz for his great write-up on the history of DKF badges and teasing Estel about getting the arcade record for Difficulty 4, I've starting thinking more about how we should approach badges for DK3...and I could use some community guidance.

Right now, DK, DKJR, and CK have separate badges for the arcade WR and MAME WR, as well as separate badges for having the former WR on each platform. For DK3, my approach has been to award the current WR badge to any player who has the highest overall, cross-platform score on any of the 8 tracks (Marathon and 5 Lives for Difficulty 1, 2, 3, 4) and the former WR badge for any player who used to have the highest overall, cross-platform score on any of the 8 tracks. There has been no separation of arcade or MAME in terms of badges.

So the question is: do we want to create separate badges for arcade and MAME for current/former DK3 world record holders?
And the follow-up question: how accurately can we determine the world record progression for every track?
And the second follow-up question: do we keep the single WR badge we have or do we create new badges for every track, with slight variations for platform and current/former? I'm envisioning 8 basic badges that would be slightly differentiated for arcade vs. MAME, then grayscaled versions of those for former WRs...that's 32 badges.

To that last point, if we created track-based badges, JV would end up with 7 current WR badges. Riley would probably end up with 1342309823948 former WR badges. Is that too much clutter?

Here is a preliminary history of DK3 world records. I consider this to be unfinished and will someday be part of a larger collection of DK, DKJR, and CK WR progression charts that I'll share. But it might be helpful to share right now...both to determine badge eligibility and correct my errors.

So, share your thoughts please. And if anyone wants to go ahead and design some new badges...pls and thx.
