Can count on one hand how many times I even went to the CAGDC main page. Always the forums. Mark probably realizes that so doesn't bother.

It's just like twin galaxies. Before TG switched, my internet bookmark for TG was straight to the forums, the amount of time I actually went to TG's main page was very rare, and when they removed CAG from the "latest score" list, the amount of time I went there was even less. But, visited the forums on a daily basis.

TG needs a forum again to help survive, because traffic is not going to flow by just going to the main page/site.

But he takes soooooo many photos during his events (and events like Funspot)...where do they all end up?  Also he often emphasizes submitting scores to CAGDC and has on many occasions stated that his WR score list on the homepage is the true arcade WR listing, yet John Petric submitted his Zoo Keeper score to CAGDC many moons ago, had MDA be the exclusive reviewer at that time and it is still not up on his site either.

Yea, very cool.  It's either photoshopped, or empty boxes glued together.

Yeah, anytime I've seen these stack designs in stores they are empty boxes glued together. It's pretty common where I'm at anyways.

Edit: I've posted a comment on it telling people about this site and about Chris' blog, so hopefully we see some traffic soon. The comment is just awaiting a moderator to confirm it.

No problem. Even it makes Jeff have to be wary a bit about anyone that tries to register, I think it was worth the publicity.

That's pretty cool about the hidden message in the DK code. I wonder if JEFF(ROMHACK) or Jeff Willm, or any of the guys who can read the code can find that message.

On another note, what program is used you reading the assembly language ROM code? I would like to be able to browse through it and refresh my memory programming. Just never what program these guys were using to look at MAME ROM Codes.

It's actually impossible to miss!

The whole Donkey Kong program is just hexadecimal codes, each of which translate to Z80 commands, except for those lines. When you look at the program as ASCII text, the message is there.

If anybody wants to see it, you can go into dkong.zip and look. It's in the c_5at_g.bin file. Extract (copy/paste) that file from the zip, change the extension to .txt and open it in your browser or whatever. (Or leave it as .bin and try hexecute if you want it to look tidier).

Scroll to the bottom and you will see it. The first few words are cut off in the US version, though (I guess they needed the space for the changes they made to the program).

If you want to see the whole thing, it's in c_5k_b.bin of the Japan ROMset.

At one point I translated the HEX to assembly code using some program, but I don't remember what it was...

I think it was dZ80.
