BEFORE READING ON, RESET YOUR PASSWORD.JC's
unexpected passing in February left the future of DKF as a website in serious doubt. However, over the past two months serious work has been done to restore the forum to its former glory. While a lot of progress has been made, there are still some significant issues to tackle. We would not be back if it weren't for the extraordinary efforts of Wes Copeland, so please reach out to him and offer your thanks when you get a chance.
The long and short of it is this: all posts, shoutbox messages, and PMs up to the evening of January 21, 2022 should be back. Anything between then and now is lost, unless it was scraped by the Wayback Machine. Crucially,
all attachments to all posts are now gone. This means all INPs submitted as attachments, any pictures posted as attachments, all custom/uploaded user avatars, and any other attachments.
Some other things you may notice:
-We are now .net, instead of .com.
-The shoutbox is back to the older version. I may or may not upgrade it back to the newer version.
-New badges!
-There is only one theme to choose from. This may change in the future.
-A new Active Streamers widget. Currently shows "Twitch ID (DKF ID)" for everyone streaming. It can look a little wonky for people with similar usernames across the two platforms, so I might change that up.
-All original score submission threads have been archived/locked and will be replaced with new ones.
-Forum email server has been changed, so you might need to check your junk mail if you're expecting a PM or something, and mark the new sender as safe.
So where do we go from here? You can help out by doing the following:
-RESET YOUR PASSWORD-Change offsite links you may have posted from .com to .net. Do your best to inform people of the new .net domain, and to avoid the .com.
-Report any problems to the new
bug report thread.
-Post your original INPs in the new
INP archive thread.
-If you have an unverified submission from the January-February timeframe, please resubmit.
-Have patience as we spin the site back up to 100%.
The last one is important. There's a lot of work yet to be done, so please have patience as all the kinks get worked out.
